The Baby Skinner Foundation was established in 2011 with the purpose of bringing those within the community together for a charitable cause. Our annual Pig Roast Fundraiser has been successful for all who have participated in the past; for those who attended, donated, and especially for the families whom we have helped during difficult times of illness, tragedy, or loss. Being able to provide families with comfort, support, and encouragement is truly indescribable.
2022 Pig Roast
Saturday August 6th
This year’s Baby Skinner Foundation Recipient is Gwen Coia. Gwen was diagnosed with Leukemia on February 23, 2022 at just six years old after having a fever for several days on end. A bone marrow biopsy confirmed that Gwen has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Gwen has received several chemotherapy treatments, countless spinal taps, blood transfusions, and numerous steroid treatments over the last few months. Gwen is in her 3rd phase, Interim Maintenance 1 to treat her ALL and continues to be a very brave little fighter! Gwen is a spunky little lady who enjoys playing with her cousins and friends, taking care of her baby sister, drawing, and cuddling and watching TV. Now a big seven-year-old, Gwen is looking forward to summer and spending time outside with her family!!
We look forward to our best fundraising efforts yet for Gwen and her family through our Baby Skinner Chicken Dinner Pig Roast at the Andrew Toman Grove in North Riverside on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
